Imperial Christmas – Viennese Stories
Bucharest Metropolitan Circus
December 20, 2026, 7:30 PM
The Pitești Philharmonic is asserting itself more and more strongly on the Romanian cultural scene through dynamism, professionalism and a constant openness to innovation. From the great classical masterpieces to spectacular crossover productions, the institution continues to surprise the public with memorable events, refined interpretations and large-scale collaborations.
"Imperial Christmas – Viennese Stories" is not just a concert, but a sound and visual experience, specially designed to convey the warmth and joy of the holidays. The choice of the Bucharest Metropolitan Circus as the venue offers the event a spectacular setting, where Viennese tradition intertwines with the energy of a diverse and enthusiastic audience. Spectators will be invited to be carried away by the timeless music of the great composers, in a fairytale setting that evokes the lavish atmosphere of old Vienna.
On the eve of Christmas, the Bucharest audience is invited to experience an event that combines the refinement of classical music with the magic of the holidays. "Imperial Christmas – Viennese Stories" is more than a show: it is a musical gift offered to those who wish to enjoy the beauty and emotional power of music performed at the highest level.
Conductor Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea is a musician with multiple artistic facets: violinist with a beautiful record, awarded in genre competitions, concertmaster and violin soloist. However, his artistic path intertwined his bow with the baton, being one of the most appreciated conductors with 30 years of career and over 1000 concerts, whose experience includes both symphony orchestras and operetta, opera and musical theater, being one of the pioneers of cross-over concerts, thus becoming, through versatility and artistic vision, perhaps the most appreciated and desired conductor of the genre. Collaborations with leading vocal artists: Felicia Filip, Pompeiu Hărăşteanu, Daniela Vlădescu, Bianca Ionescu, Florin Georgescu, Maria Miron, Cezar Ouatu, Valentina Naforniţă, Florin Estefan, Diana Ţugui, Irina Iordăchescu, Nicoleta Ardelean, Alfredo Pascu, Doina Scripcaru.
Thus, on December 20th, the Bucharest Metropolitan Circus will become a true palace of music, where the Pitești Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will revive the Viennese splendor and will bring the luminous spirit of Christmas into the souls of the spectators.
