On October 15th, Dalles Hall becomes the stage for a musical journey into the heart of the Austro-German musical tradition, in an extraordinary concert dedicated to lovers of lyrical art and musical refinement, in waltz steps. Tenor Ştefan von Korch, soprano Daniela Bucşan and pianist Alexandru Burcă will bring to life the emotion and elegance of the creations signed by Lehár, Strauss and Kálmán, in a repertoire performed in German. Brilliant arias, passionate duets and dizzying waltzes will recreate the sumptuous atmosphere of the musical evenings in Vienna, Germany and Austria, offering the audience an evening of pure enchantment.

About the protagonists
** Ştefan von Korch – Tenor **
With an exponential evolution, national and international, Ştefan von Korch started the year on the stage of the Transylvania State Philharmonic, in Carmina Burana, his "signature" work, continuing at the National Opera in Iași in the role of Camille de Jolidon from "The Merry Widow 2.0" directed by Andrei Şerban but also in the Musical Extravaganza concert series, for which he is a soloist-amphitrion and artistic coordinator.
Ştefan von Korch ended 2024 with notable appearances at the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre, at the Sala Palatului and at the Philharmonic Orchestras in Târgu-Mureş and Timișoara, and during the summer he debuted in Carmina Burana at the Palermo Clasica Festival and in a grand concert spectacle in Spain. Also during last year he performed on the stage of the Târgu-Mureş Philharmonic the vocal-symphonic work Stabat Mater by G. Rossini, considered a demonstration of virtuosity for any tenor, and the work Lobgesang by F. Mendelssohn, he was invited to the Opera in Iași, in the sparkling role of Camille de Jolidon, from The Merry Widow 2.0 directed by Andrei Șerban and at the Romanian Opera in Timișoara in the staging of The Merry Widow signed by Mario Di Carlo.
In 2023, the tenor made the hearts of the audience vibrate with masterful interpretations of the score specific to his voice from Carmina Burana, for which he is considered a benchmark and was the only Romanian soloist in a tour of 27 cities in China. Other highlights of his career include leading roles in operas and operettas presented on the biggest stages in Romania: "The Barber of Seville", "The Elixir of Love" and "Falstaff" (Bucharest National Opera), "Rigoletto," "Don Pasquale," "The Merry Widow" and "The Merry Widow 2.0" (Iași National Opera), "I Puritani" (national premiere) "Rigoletto" and "The Barber of Seville" (Cluj-Napoca Romanian Opera) and others.
**Daniela Bucşan – soprană **
A soprano with an expressive voice and solid vocal technique, Daniela Bucșan is a remarkable soloist who can be applauded in the current season of the "Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theatre in the musicals "Rebecca," and "Kiss Me Kate," in the rock opera "Meșterul Manole," but also in the classic operettas "The Circus Princess" or "The Bat"
On prestigious stages, such as the Romanian Athenaeum, Sala Palatului and Sala Radio, Daniela has impressed the audience with the versatility of her repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works, within the "George Enescu" and "Majura Christ" Festivals.
Originally from the Republic of Moldova and a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, she perfected her skills under the guidance of professors Eleonora Enăchescu and Claudia Codreanu. She has also participated in masterclasses and workshops led by renowned artists, such as Larisa Gergieva (Mariinsky Theatre), Liora Maurer, Lusy Arner, Sharon Mohar (Metropolitan Opera), developing her stage interpretation and musical refinement.
Distinguished with important awards, including the National Musical Competition 2021, Le Grand Prix de l’Opéra Bucharest and the "Suzana Szöreny" International Duo Competition, Daniela Bucșan continues to captivate the audience with the emotion and depth of her interpretation.
**Alexandru Burcă (Pianist) **
Alexandru Burcă brings brilliance to the piano scores of numerous performances of the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre in Bucharest, is the stage partner of actress Oana Pellea in the show "Callas," presented on the stage of the National Opera in Bucharest and pianist in many other performances of the institution, delights the audience with magical touches of the piano keys in musicals like "Mamma Mia" and "Shrek" and signed the music for the production "Ileana the Brave."
He has given concerts and recitals at the Romanian Athenaeum, the 'George Enescu' International Festival, Romanian Television, Romanian Broadcasting Society, Bucharest Municipality Museum – Șuțu Palace, 'George Cavadia' Philharmonic, Bacau Philharmonic, National Museum of Art, Kazakhstan, Russia, Moldova, France, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Italy, Canada.
About the season Musical Extravaganza
The Musical Extravaganza Season. The concerts aim to offer the public the joy of meeting representative names of the lyrical scene, in a more intimate setting, which offers a different perspective on the artistic act compared to that of the imposing opera stage, but also to bring the classical genre closer to audiences of all ages. Spectators are invited to admire their favorite soloists in a select atmosphere, complemented by a chamber accompaniment, which highlights the performers in a warm and personal light.
The events are hosted at the Dalles Hall, a choice that is not at all accidental. The protagonists of Musical Extravaganza invite the public to a space with tradition and history in the cultural landscape and climb on the stage on which, over time, great musicians such as George Enescu (26 concerts), Dinu Lipatti, Mihai Jora, Ionel Perlea, Ion Voicu or Virginia Zeani have performed.
