Concordia Theatre Company presents the play I BELIEVE YOU, BUT... YOU'RE LYING TO ME
Comedy adapted from the idea of "La Menteuse" by J. Bricaire and M. Lasaygues
Translation: Rodica Baitan. Adaptation: Monica Davidescu, Liviu Lucaci
Characters:
Bernard, 50 years old, the charm of graying years - Aurelian Temisan
Isabelle de Rompoingt, fashion designer, overly imaginative - Monica Davidescu
Francoise, 30 years old, journalist, very fashionable - Anca Dinicu/Letitia Vladescu
Patrick, 30 years old, engineer, romantic, gullible boy - Cosmin Vijeu
Jane, beautiful, inventive, a dream - Alexandra Salceanu
The play is directed by the actor, writer, professor at UNATC in the acting department, Rector of UNATC Liviu Lucaci
The set is signed by architect Gabi Albu, a set designer who has signed several productions of the TNB theatre and other theatres in the country, also being one of the creators of the Replika theatre
The costumes are signed by Elida Toma and Alina Gurguta, professionals in the art of fashion design, whom we meet teaching at the Faculty of Art or covering the styling of successful shows on various television channels.
Regardless of the passage of years and the changing times, the comic situations offered by the play remain extremely fashionable and appreciated by the public, being untouchable in the face of any passing trend.
The play is a delicious situational comedy in which all the characters find themselves in qui-pro-quo situations to the taste of the audience. In short, the play is about a girl who likes to "adjust" the truth with lies and stories taken from books and adapted to reality, and the boy who loves her believes everything she tells him and hurries to solve the problems that arise but also makes more entanglements. The girl's family consists of her father and sister. They know her very well but from time to time they are also caught in the fabric of lies. When the character, about whom the subject was invented, enters the action arriving at the house and proposing another solution, things go haywire. In the end... everything ends... well, I hope.
