Somewhere in a chic apartment in Manhattan, the 20-year marriage of Greg (Mihai Călin), a man in an eternal search for the meaning of life, and Kate (Elvira Deatcu) has reached a turning point.
Everything changes one day when he meets Silvia, an adorable and lively little dog, in a park in New York. Greg immediately adopts her and Silvia quickly becomes the center of his universe. His wife, Kate, is not at all pleased with Greg's new preoccupation and feels that Silvia has become a serious threat to her husband's attention and affection.
And because we are at the theater, the role of Silvia is played by an actress (Aida Economu), which makes the rivalry for the husband's heart become a much more amusing and savory competition
"Silvia" invites us into a world where the unconditional love of a four-legged friend can heal emotional wounds and bring joy to our complicated and hectic lives. The play explores with humor and sensitivity the special relationship between people and their pets.
Adapted into Romanian and staged by Laurențiu Rusescu, the play "Sylvia" by A.R. Gurney, an intelligent and amusing contemporary comedy about the special relationship between man and "his best friend", premiered for the first time in New York in 1995, with Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex in the City), in the main role.
