Prințesa Circului (original title in German: ”Die Zirkusprinzessin”) is an operetta in three acts composed by Emmerich Kálmán on a libretto written by Julius Brammer and Alfred Grünwald, which premiered on March 26, 1926 at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna.
The action of the operetta takes place around the mysterious character "Mister X", whose true identity no one knows, he always wearing a mask. In reality, he is Prince Fedja Palinski who was banished and disinherited by his uncle because he fell in love with his future wife, Princess Fedora, a beautiful and young Parisian. After Fedora Palinska was widowed, she went to Paris, and Prince Fedja Palinski enters the world of the circus, becoming the mysterious Mister X and at the same time the main attraction of the shows.
Following a plot with a happy ending, Mister X and Princess Fedora meet again and stay together. Some of these events take place in the wonderful and colorful world of the circus.
