MAESTRUL si MAIASTRA

THE MASTER and THE MISTRESS

- A Mysterious Love Story -

December 2, 2026 at 7:00 PM

Hall of the "Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theatre

Romance Unites two dimensions of art - song and form - and two legends who have left their indelible mark: Maria Tănase and Constantin Brâncuși.

The event aims to tell the mysterious love story between Maria Tănase and Constantin Brâncuși, through an original artistic experience that brings into dialogue two fundamental values of Romanian culture: Brâncuși's sculptural universe and the emotion of Romanian romance, symbolically represented by Maria Tănase's repertoire.

Created in the anniversary year dedicated to Constantin Brâncuși, the show highlights the deep connections between music and sculpture, two forms of expression characterized by simplicity, authenticity, and depth, demonstrating that the same artistic essences can be transposed into different languages.

The performance will take the form of an original play, combining live music, dialogues, poetic interventions, and visual projections inspired by Constantin Brâncuși's work. With "The Bird in Space" as the central symbol, the show evokes the image of inner flight and spiritual freedom, aiming for the spectators' soul liberation from the constraints of everyday life.
