The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet "Oleg Danovski" Constanta presents "A Night in Venice" by Johann Strauss

Within the 2026-2027 season, the "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Constanța invites the public to a new encounter with Viennese charm, through the performance "A Night in Venice" by Johann Strauss, one of the most beloved operettas in the international repertoire.

The performance will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 18:30, on the stage of the Constanța Trade Union House of Culture.

With its elegant music, full of verve and color, and with an action built around the Venetian carnival, disguises, love intrigues, and sparkling confusions, "A Night in Venice" offers the audience a scenic experience that combines musical refinement with humor and spectacle.

Created by Johann Strauss, with a libretto by Friedrich Zell and Richard Genée, the operetta transports the spectator to an exuberant Venice, where masks hide identities, loves get tangled, and the game of seduction and appearances generates the most delightful situations.

At the podium will be Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea, who will conduct the Orchestra, Choir, and Ballet of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre „Oleg Danovski” Constanța. The cast brings together theatre artists, guests, and young performers at the beginning of their careers: Marius Eftimie - debut, Laura Eftimie, Iulia Stănei - debut, Răzvan Săraru, Doru Iftene, Mihaela Ionescu, Mihai Teodoru - debut, Mircea Găvan, Barbaruccio, Adrian Pîrlea, Gabriela, Dobre, Iulian Bratu, Robert Safta.

With "A Night in Venice", the "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre continues its series of performances for the 2026-2027 season, offering the Constanța public a spectacular production, where Johann Strauss's music meets the fascinating atmosphere of the Venetian carnival.
