We want to be trimbulinzi. Concert Maxim Belciug (guitar) and Gabriel Bălașa (pantam, percussion)
Merlin Theater Timisoara
April 18, 2026, 7:00 PM
Have you ever wondered what blue music is like, what it tastes like, how it tickles your ears? Or if flying saucers can sing? But do you know what trimbulinzi are? Have you noticed that Bach's arias sometimes do somersaults in the air, that dandelions can dance, that the soul and sound know how to play together?
Well, you have the opportunity to hear these and many others live in the extraordinary concert "We want to be trimbulinzi", an event like you've never seen before, in which music becomes color, and the musicians – magicians.
Two fantastic artists, Maxim Belciug, the master of Enchantments, and Gabriel Bălașa, a painter of sounds, come on stage with the guitar, percussion, and pantam, to offer the audience a musical spectacle full of infectious energy, where rhythms, warm atmosphere, spontaneity, and joy are at home. A concert like you've never seen, in which the music surprises at every turn, and waltzes and tangos, Latin American dances, flamenco virtuosity, and colorful exotica come to life in unexpected ways. As in a true exercise in prestidigitation, the guitar gives voice to all its playful impulses, and the hypnotic sound of the pantam makes the air tremble in round, almost cosmic nuances, in a brilliant melange of classical with improvisation.
We invite you to join the game with us! It's the perfect opportunity to break away from the daily routine and savor the taste of freedom and eternal youth. We don't want to be brilliant, we want to be mischievous. Together!
Maxim Belciug, a classical artist in his training and preferences, is a well-known name. He is the guitarist of Enchantments, the one who stubbornly believes that beauty will still save the world. He has performed in Paris, Rome, Venice, Warsaw, Belgrade, Vienna, Stockholm, Budapest, as well as on all the great stages of classical music in the country.
Gabriel Bălaşa is, in turn, another name frequently encountered on the underground and overground music scene. An inspired and clever percussionist, appreciated for his creative presence, who has recently become the ambassador of an instrument still little known to us: the pantam. He has given concerts at national and international festivals in Romania, Hungary, Portugal, France, England, Germany, China, India and has performed alongside big names on the Romanian scene.
Together, Maxim Belciug and Gabriel Bălașa form an unusual duo, like their music. Their pleasure in singing gives birth to sounds that warm the heart, and the music engages the audience – to the point of trance – in sound spaces with luminous and healing energies. The harmonies take flight from the score and bring us a respite of childhood, despite the fact that we live in a world that is not made for children.
