Gala Operetei Românești – Eveniment dedicat Zilei Naționale a României

Romanian Operetta Gala – Event dedicated to Romania's National Day

November 29, 2026, 6:00 PM

"Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theatre Hall

The "Ion Dacian" National Theatre of Operetta and Musical invites you on Sunday, November 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM, to a festive evening dedicated to the national lyrical heritage: The Romanian Operetta Gala.

On the occasion of the celebration of Romania's National Day, the event brings to the forefront the brightest and most beloved musical pieces signed by the masters of the domestic musical theatre. The audience will be taken on a journey through the history and charm of Romanian operetta, starting with the first Romanian operetta composed by Ciprian Porumbescu (Crai Nou), continuing with the lively sounds of Filaret Barbu (Ana Lugojana) and the theatrical vision of Alfred Mendelssohn (Anton Pann).
The evening's repertoire will be complemented by famous pieces from the creation of the great modern classics of the genre: Gherase Dendrino (Lăsați-mă să cânt, Lysistrata), Florin Comișel (Leonard, Răspântia, Culegătorii de stele) and George Grigoriu (Eternele Iubiri, Valurile Dunării). The passionate arias, sparkling duets, and virtuosic orchestral moments will revive the elegant atmosphere and authentic spirit of great Romanian performances.
Conceived as a demonstration of artistic strength and mastery, the gala brings together on stage the soloists, orchestra, choir, and ballet of the "Ion Dacian" National Theatre of Operetta and Musical.
