The Metropolitan Center for Education and Culture „Ioan I. Dalles” invites you to the event „HARMONIES”, an emotional concert that will take place on December 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM, at Dalles Hall.
The event is supported by the Choir of Chanters TRONOS of the Romanian Patriarchate, led by archdeacon Mihail Bucă, alongside special guests: soprano Ana Cebotari and mezzo-soprano Andreia Lucaciu.
The central point of the winter holidays is Christmas – the celebration of the Birth of Lord Jesus Christ, an occasion on which the Bucharest public will spend an evening of high vibration, by valuing traditions and through a quality cultural act.
Mihail Bucă
He has been the protopsalt of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest since 1997. Father Archdeacon Mihail Bucă is the founder and conductor of the TRONOS Choir. His passion for Byzantine ecclesiastical music, intertwined with continuous effort for a better understanding of its mysteries, has made Father Mihail a faithful performer of psaltic music, also concerned with the unadulterated transmission of Romanian ecclesiastical musical tradition. These concerns have been shared with great generosity with the chanters around him, to whom he has instilled the same love for psaltic singing.
His deep connection with Dalles Hall, which he considers "a second home," was formed over the years through the organization and support of numerous psaltic and Byzantine music concerts. This space has become, through his constant involvement, a meeting place between the authentic tradition of church singing and the general public, contributing to the promotion and valorization of Romanian liturgical musical heritage.
Ana Cebotari
She is a soprano and artist with over 25 years of stage experience, recognized for her vocal versatility and ability to naturally navigate genres such as opera, musical, pop-opera, and traditional music.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with important philharmonics, theaters, and artistic projects, performing concerts and shows at home and abroad. Her repertoire combines the elegance of classical music with the emotion and accessibility of contemporary genres, offering the public authentic and memorable artistic experiences.
Among her appearances are participation in symphonic concerts, musical shows, and large-scale cultural events, distinguishing herself through expressiveness, artistic sensitivity, and stage presence.
Besides her artistic activity, Ana Cebotari is also a vocal coach, contributing to the formation and development of hundreds of voices and artists at different stages of their journey.
Today, she continues to carry out her activity both on stage and in artistic and educational projects that promote the power and authenticity of vocal expression.
Andreia Lucaciu
With a warm voice and an authentic stage presence, Romanian-American mezzo-soprano Andreia Lucaciu captivates the audience with the expressiveness and elegance of her interpretation, bringing emotion and artistic refinement to the stage.
A graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest and of the master's program in vocal performance at Temple University in Philadelphia, she has performed both domestically and abroad.
Andreia approaches classical, operatic, and jazz-inspired repertoire with the same naturalness, and is also dedicated to promoting Romanian culture in the United States. Through recitals and special events organized in partnership with Romanian cultural institutions and diaspora organizations in Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey, she has presented the richness of Romanian music to the American public, from traditional and interwar songs to classical vocal repertoire.
The psaltic group "TRONOS" of the Patriarchal Cathedral
Is the best-known Byzantine music group in our country. The name recalls one of the angelic choirs, called "Thrones," and was given to it in 2007 by His Beatitude Father Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
Under the leadership of its conductor and founder, Father Archdeacon Mihail Bucă, protopsalt of the Patriarchal Cathedral, the group has held concerts on numerous musical stages, in cathedrals and churches at home and abroad, as well as in important cultural institutions in Romania (Romanian Athenaeum, Bucharest National Opera, Cluj-Napoca Romanian National Opera, Palace Hall, Palace of the Parliament, etc.).
Formed in 1997 from the chanters of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, who formed the initial nucleus, the group has attracted over time priests, deacons, theology students and pupils, but also lovers of Byzantine music from other fields (doctors, engineers, architects, etc.).
The psaltic group TRONOS received the Order of Sanctus Stephanus from His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel in 2013, and the group's conductor, Father Archdeacon Mihail Bucă, received the Order of the Holy Brancovean Martyrs in 2014, the Order of Saint John Chrysostom in 2016, and the Order of the Theotokos the Intercessor in 2022, for his entire missionary activity.
For the group members, the attention paid to the accuracy of the interpretation of the scores is doubled by love and respect for the message of the liturgical text, thus showing that melody serves the word and prayer.
The Metropolitan Center for Education and Culture "Ioan I. Dalles" is a public institution under the subordination of the Bucharest City Hall and the General Council of Bucharest Municipality, which constantly aims to enrich the cultural and spiritual offer addressed to the public, remaining a landmark in the Bucharest artistic landscape.
