The "Strauss 200" Gala brings the elegance of salon music in its authentic form to the TNOMID stage.

 

With the participation of the soloists:

 Daniela Bucșan, Mihai Urzicana and special guest Apollonia Egyed, accompanied by the Salon Orchestra of the National Operetta and Musical Theatre "Ion Dacian"

 

Musical direction: conductor Geanina Meragiu

 

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss the Younger – the composer who transformed the waltz from a social dance into symphonic art.
On this occasion, the "Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theatre presents a unique anniversary concert in Romania:
a Strauss Concert performed by the TNOMID Salon Orchestra, in the format and style in which this music was originally conceived for imperial salons, not for formal stages.
The sound, the repertoire, the style and the stage presence respect the authentic Viennese tradition.
Nothing is adapted. Nothing is compromised.
 
The program includes waltzes, polkas, galops and well-known or rediscovered orchestral works, in original orchestrations, performed by the Salon Orchestra of the "Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theatre, alongside the theater's soloists.
This concert is not about the past. It is about the precision, grace and power of a music that lives through detail.
It is a sound and visual experience that invites the Romanian public to discover, or rediscover, what Strauss style truly means, beyond clichés.
